The Work You Cannot See
God's most important work often happens in the invisible places. Seeds germinate underground before they break through soil. Babies develop in hidden darkness before they enter the world. Restoration happens in the depths of a heart long before anyone notices the change. And God is always working in ways we cannot yet see.
This is where faith becomes difficult. We want visible progress. We want measurable results. We want to see evidence that our prayers are working, that God is moving, that something is actually happening. And when we don't see it, we assume nothing is. But God's work doesn't require our observation to be real.
Joseph didn't see God working during the years in prison, but God was positioning him for palace leadership. The Israelites didn't see God working during generations of Egyptian slavery, but He was preparing their deliverance. Mary and Martha didn't see God working during the four days Lazarus lay in the tomb, but Jesus was setting the stage for resurrection. In every case, what looked like delay was actually divine orchestration.
Today, if you're in the waiting, if prayers feel unanswered, if circumstances haven't shifted, if you're wondering if God has forgotten, remember this: your inability to see His work doesn't mean it's not happening. Behind every closed door, beneath every frustrating delay, within every moment of silence, God is working. Not on your timeline, but always on purpose. Trust the process. He's never been late yet.

Prayer
Lord, You are working, even when I can't see it, even when progress feels invisible, and I need to trust You in the waiting.
My circumstances look the same, my prayers seem unanswered, and I'm tempted to believe that nothing is happening, but faith means trusting what I cannot see.
Teach me that Your work often happens in hidden places, behind the scenes, beneath the surface, preparing things I won't understand until later.
You are never idle, never distracted, never too busy with someone else's problem to be working on mine, and Your timing is always perfect even when it's not what I expected.
Help me rest in Your process instead of demanding immediate results, to believe that delays are not denials, that silence doesn't mean absence.
Remind me of the times I've looked back and seen Your hand clearly in seasons when I thought You were distant, when I realize now You were working all along.
Give me patience to wait without growing bitter, faith to trust without needing proof, peace to surrender outcomes while You orchestrate details I cannot control.
Let me live today with confident trust that God is working, that nothing is wasted, that every moment serves Your purposes, and that Your plans for me are good.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
