Sunday Is Here

This is the day.

Not the day we wait for something to change. Not the day we hope things might get better. This is the day it already happened. The tomb is empty. The stone is rolled. Death tried its worst and lost.

We spend so much of our lives in the struggle, in the waiting, in the "not yet," that when the breakthrough actually comes we almost don't know what to do with it. We're so used to bracing for impact that we forget how to simply enjoy the victory.

But today is Easter Sunday. And Easter Sunday is not a day for bracing. It's a day for breathing. For laughing. For standing in front of an empty tomb with your mouth open and your heart exploding because the thing that was supposed to be impossible just happened.

Jesus is alive.

Not "Jesus was alive." Not "Jesus might be alive." He is alive, right now, today, as you read these words. The same Jesus who calmed storms and healed the sick and welcomed children and wept with the grieving and loved the outcast is alive. And He is not distant or detached or done with you. He is present, active, close, and deeply invested in your life.

Do you know what the resurrection means for you, practically, today?

It means the worst thing is never the last thing. It means every diagnosis has an expiration date but God's promises don't. It means the enemy is already defeated, finished, done, even when he's still making noise. It means the same power that walked out of a sealed tomb is the exact same power living inside of you right now.

It means hope isn't wishful thinking. Hope is a person, and His name is Jesus, and He is alive.

It means your story isn't over. Whatever chapter you're in, however hard it's been, however long the night has lasted, you serve a God who specializes in new mornings. And not just any morning, the kind of morning where angels are sitting on rolled-away stones telling you not to be afraid because everything has changed.

Paul said death no longer has dominion over Him. If death itself couldn't hold Jesus down, what makes you think your circumstances can hold you down? What fear is bigger than an empty tomb? What worry can survive in the presence of a risen Savior?

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

So today, celebrate. Not cautiously, not quietly, not with one eye on the problems you'll go back to tomorrow. Celebrate like death has been defeated, because it has. Celebrate like hope is alive, because He is. Celebrate like everything has changed, because it has.

He is risen. He is risen indeed. And because He lives, you can face tomorrow. But today, don't even think about tomorrow. Just worship. Just be grateful. Just let the joy of resurrection wash over you like it's the best news you've ever heard.

Because it is.

Prayer

He is risen, the tomb is empty, death has been defeated, and everything has changed because what looked like the end was actually the beginning of everything.

The stone rolled away, the grave clothes folded, the body gone, and angels declaring what seemed impossible, He is not here, He is risen, just as He said.

Teach me to live as someone who believes in resurrection, to carry myself differently because the grave couldn't hold You, to face everything with confidence because You conquered death itself.

Death doesn't win, the enemy is defeated, hope is alive, fear is finished, and the worst thing that can happen is never the last thing.

Help me celebrate this truth not just on Easter but every day, to let resurrection power transform ordinary moments, to remember that the same power that raised Jesus lives in me.

Remind me that because You rose, I will rise, that Your resurrection guarantees mine, that death has lost its sting and the grave has lost its victory.

Give me joy that overflows from this reality, worship that matches the magnitude of resurrection, faith that's anchored to an empty tomb and a risen Savior.

Let me declare with all creation today, He is risen, He is risen indeed, and because He lives, everything is different, everything is possible, everything is new.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.
